Cosmetic Periodontal Surgery
Cosmetic Gum Surgery can improve your appearance and smile with confidence.
Cosmetic periodontics provide an effective way to improve the esthetics of your gums. This can include preventing further gum recession, repairing substantial damage, or bone regeneration. Here are a few cosmetic services we provide:
Crown Lengthening
Many people look in the mirror and believe their teeth look too short and their smile is too gummy. Did you know your teeth might actually be normal length but covered by excess gum tissue? At Dream Dental, we use crown lengthening to remove this gum and bone tissue to reveal more of your natural teeth.
Soft Tissue Graft
Soft tissue grafting is used to cover over damaged tooth roots, reduce gum recession, and protect the roots from decay. These can be issues after tooth loss and can lead to the appearance of aging and unattractive indentation on your gums or jaw. This treatment can be improved further with bone grafting
Guided Bone & Tissue Regeneration
At the forefront of periodontics through the use of modern technology and innovative techniques.
Guided bone and tissue regeneration helps stabilize your teeth and can be used to prepare your jaw for dental implants. When periodontal disease has progressed into a more severe issue, your jaw bone can be affected. Small pockets of degenerated bone can develop and enable the growth of negative bacteria. Dr. Pasquinelli and Dr. Olivares may use a surgical procedure called tissue regeneration to help fix these pockets. This procedure begins with your doctor cleaning the pockets; then a membrane is placed over the pocket. The slow-growing bone then has time to regenerate itself and repair the issue. We strive to ensure this surgery is performed comfortably and to the highest standard. Our team remains by your side and monitors you during the healing process too.
Gum Grafting
Restoring your natural defenses against gum disease.
When gum recession occurs, the body loses a natural defense against both bacterial penetration and trauma.
Gum grafting is a proven solution for severe gum recession. When this happens it can expose the tooth root’s surface, which can result in sensitivity and pain.
A gum graft is when a thin piece of tissue (taken from the roof of your mouth) is attached to the gum tissue around your tooth. This stabilized, healthy tissue is placed around the tooth and thus prevents recession.
